Workshop for Parents of Teenagers
Parents of teenagers frequently feel confused, frustrated and helpless. This workshop will increase your understanding of your teenager's world and their needs. It will give you an opportunity to deliberate with other parents and will help you to develop new channels of communication with your teenager.
The workshop will address:
· The social, behavioral, emotional and sexual development of adolescence.
· Working through parents' dilemmas regarding setting boundaries and parental authority.
· How to manage conflicts surrounding such issues as school, cooperation at home, 'chutzpah', piercing, tattooing and the like.
· As parents, coping with the adolescent's world such as the Internet and the use of their spare time.
· High risk behavior such as alcohol and substance use, risky sexual behavior etc…
The workshop comprises 8 sessions
The workshop will be conducted in Hebrew or English by Joanne Zack-Pakes, a social worker with 25 years of experience counseling teenagers and working with groups of adolescents, parents and professionals.
